As everyone knows, the gemstone of the month is the Pearl, but few people know that there are several kinds of pearls, such as South Sea pearls and the more common freshwater pearl. Although South Sea pearls are often more expensive, they are usually much larger in size (ranging to up to 14mm in diameter). They come in the usual white, as well as black, and genuine south sea pearls are sold with a certificate. Although freshwater pearls come in a wider range of colors, south sea pearls are often more beautiful and are of better quality. Mikimoto is a beautiful, well-known brand that specializes in pearl jewelry, and can be found on Bidz. Miss America even wore a Mikimoto tiara covered in gorgeous pearls. Another brand that sells South Sea pearls is Autore, and each piece of jewelry comes with a certificate verifying its authenticity.
