Luxury jewelers Montblanc recently launched a new collection of diamond jewelry in Dubai. The centerpiece of the collection is the Montblanc Diamond, a 6 carat gem cut into the shape of a star.

The collection also includes several other brilliant diamonds including The White Lady, Magic in White and Black and The Secret Star.

According to a report filed by INDEX, the Internation Diamond Exchange, sales at JC Penny, a national chain of department stores, rose by nearly 1.6-percent in Feb. The results of this elevated profit has been attributed to and increase in the fine jewelry sales.

The report claims that the southeast, southwest and northwest regions of the U.S. generated the highest sales. JC Penny expects sales to continue going up slowly.

The cost of gold and silver rose today and helped to stabilize the market to some degree. Gold settled at $646.20 a troy ounce and silver landed at $12.985.

These increases in valuation of metal stocks have a profound effect on stock markets. It is the most significant rise in precious metals this year.
