Given that so many celebrities today are in court or on their way to jail, or, as with Miss Hilton, in jail, speculation is that handcuffs as jewelry might become a trend. This handcuff charm with 0.5 carats in diamonds is a good example though it will probably be easy to find functional diamond handcuffs if more rebellious celebs continue to flaunt the law.

If you prefer to have your diamonds in the form of rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets, Bidz.com has it all available for your bidding pleasure…except the handcuffs.

The Sierra Leone Diamond

sierra

The Sierra Leone Diamond, discovered in 1972, was the third largest diamond ever mined, weighing in at nearly one half pound or 968.8 carats. This splendid beauty has since been cut up into 17 individual diamonds, six of those creating the famed Star of Sierra Leone Broach.

The “Great Mughal” is thought to be the largest diamond ever discovered. Said to have been in the treasury of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1666, it originally is described as weighing 787 carats. There is no more available history on the stone though it is rumored to have been in the treasury of the Shah of Persia.
