I was flipping through some channels a few days ago and happened to pause for a moment on some MTV spot. The show was exploring the life of one of America’s rich little 16-year-old girls (of whom I’d never heard. I’m pretty sure this show was her 15+ minutes of fame).
Not only did daddy buy his little girl a brand new custom 6-door hummer and spend more than $300,000 on a “Sweet 16” birthday extravaganza, he also gave her a blinging $20,000 Jacob & Co watch, studded with diamonds and various other gems. Interestingly enough, her new watch was a cheapy compared to daddy’s $275,000 timepiece!
Though most of us regular folks can’t go out and purchase a $20,000+ watch on a whim, Bidz.com makes it easier for us to own fine timepieces to fit our budget. Every day we offer new options for bidders to choose from and every day you can save a bundle. Take some time to browse through some of our watch auctions today. Happy bidding!

Pocket watches used to be a man’s best friend. I guess that was before the dog came along! I guess that also explains why men tend to run late these days…
This piece by Jules Jurgensen is reminiscent of the watches that may have been toted by our relatives 100 years ago, though you’ll not have to crank this one to make it keep perfect time. It also boasts a modern feature: the date.
A description from a previous Jules Jurgensen auction reads, “Jules Jurgensen has been a proud maker of fine watches since 1740. Over the years they have earned more than 32 international awards for design and quality workmanship. To this day, they pride themselves on the quality they can provide at very affordable prices.

This elegant, yet funky ladies watch by Jules Jurgensen is valued at $285.00 retail. The watch face is 20mm in diameter with a pretty bronze/yellow base metal. The funky part of the watch, however, is the wrist band which features 10 little windows sparkling with four round white crystals each, totaling 24 crystals.

The family collection began with a simple time piece, a pocket watch, that had traveled with the patriarch of the family across the ocean to America in 1917. A poor immigrant does not spend hard earned money on watches or other lavish items, so the pocket watch was the only inheritance the patriarch had to pass on to his only son.
This only son made good on the American dream and his passion for watches began with that single timepiece. When this son passed on, he left to his son a collection of exquisite timepieces that numbered fifty; all beautifully crafted watches, all unique in their own way.
The present day son, extremely successful in his own right, had expanded this legacy of fine watches to well over 200, all unique timepieces, all gorgeous. They were housed in especially designed cases crafted in precious woods
These were the cases that his wife now pondered. How could she top this? How could any watch that she could discover compete with this incredible collection of watches before her. Her eye kept going back to that first simple timepiece, the pocket watch. She realized that in over 75 years of collecting watches , no other pocket watch had been added, as if to honor the original in it’s singularity. She knew now what type of watch she would gift her husband with at their coming wedding anniversary.
This what she chose.
