Design Mind featuresCC,a Danish group that stands for Craft Collection. This is an example of CC jewelry.

There is no description of the materials used in making this playful necklace, but at first glance, it appears to be bundles of buttons. But who cares? It’s fun and it will provide the opening to many a conversation. No doubt it looks a great deal more simple than it actually was to make. Thank goodness for jewelry designers, they give us new ways of adorning ourselves.
And that is what you will find in abundance in our online jewelry auction, well, not buttons, but hundred of rings, necklaces and bracelets to adorn yourself, or adorn that special someone.

There seems to be no lack of jewelry designers creating fun and witty jewelry made with nature in mind.

The jewelry designers at Paradise Hill create “designs[that] are a combination of woodburning techniques and painted acrylics, all of which is sealed with a “diamond finish” on top; the bottom of the pieces are left unfinished so you can feel the original wood.”

“Gorgeous Brazilian designer Simone Coste takes a unique approach with her designs. She uses stones mined in Brazil, quartz, onyx, chrysoprase, amethyst and others and instead of merely mounting the stones in gold she uses the stone as the sculptural concept for the ring, letting the sold serve as an inner support. The effect is striking, although perhaps a tad bulky on the finger. But in a world full of designs that look increasingly similar it’s refreshing to see someone step out in a new direction.”

“Mokume Gane: An ancient art form of fusing layers of precious metals to form a single piece with unique markings.
[..]
Michael Daniels offers rings, pendants, bracelets, and earrings in Mokume, seeking inspiration in nature. When it touches the skin, the colors change subtly according to the wearer’s body chemistry, expressing each person’s individuality. Thus every piece of Mokume Gane becomes, in a real sense, living jewelry- a process begun by the artist and continued by the wearer.”

The delicate honeycomb design of this Anya Pinchuk bracelet almost suggests movement, as if radiance circulated through the complex web.

From the designer:
“My work is dominated by structure and abstraction. I try to create the illusion of a solid surface by using positive and negative spaces, light and shadows, and transparency. In my work I use my knowledge of geometry to create three dimensional volumetric forms using planes, tubes, and cones, juxtaposing somewhat organic silhouettes and geometric shapes, structure, and patterns. I use repetition as a principle.”

David Godwin has been receiving great praise for his exuberance and unique viewpoint in creating jewelry that seems to leap from the body. Seen here is one of his may innovative offerings. Below, he describes his work.

“My work stems from a fascination of the structure of objects that surrounds us. Whether it is man made or natural, the underlying structure of an object determines how it will look. It is a revealing process, removing the skin from an object to see the structure beneath.
This translates into my jewelry and I draw inspiration from everyday objects which stretch from one end of the spectrum to the other. A leaf for example has many different elements in its make up but yet it is one of the simplest forms, my jewellery exaggerates these forms. The forms become more regular and geometric through the process of design.
I utilise computer based technologies and combine them with traditional jewellery making skills to produce work that would arguably not exist otherwise.”
