This ring is inspired by historical times; it resembles the type of ring you’d have seen on a Catholic bishop or other religious leader in medieval times. The modern craftsmanship, however, surely rivals that of the medieval times!
For starters, this ring is made of platinum—a modern metal to say the least. The ring includes a gorgeous, large 2.01 carat champagne colored round cut diamond center. Surrounding the champagne center are 22 round cut diamonds and 12 blue princess cut sapphires. The total carat weight is a sparkling 3.31 carats of precious gems.
Today, this ring is thought of as a cocktail ring. It’s more of an accessory than an everyday piece but wear it as you will, ladies! The retail value of this gorgeous ring is $25,439.00. Bid now for your chance to wear an antique-inspired modern beauty.

“Last year, British artist Damien Hirst promised to create the most expensive work of art ever with “For the Love of God”… A life-sized, platinum skull encrusted with 8,601 diamonds totaling 1,106.18 carats, the piece is intended to be a celebration of life.
If it sells for the asking price of $99 million, Hirst will find himself on a price level with Pablo Picasso and Gustav Klimt.”

A famous character in Japanese anime is the Robot Gundham, pictured here rendered in platinum and diamonds.
“The piece of art measures 12.5cm tall and weighs 1.4kg, like the name suggests it is made of platinum and to make it more valuable there is a 0.15 carat diamond located on its head, which gives a final price tag of around $250,000.”

Eight of the leading platinum miners are preparing to launch an enormous mine in South Africa this year. The Bushveld platinum field will see a huge expansion in mines over the next several months.
Developers expect the expansion to increase the mine’s output to nearly 7 million ounces per year. The new mines could make platinum more readily available to the market.
