I own two particular necklaces that I am complimented on every time I wear them. One piece is a simple sterling silver hibiscus charm my husband bought for me on our honeymoon in Hawaii. The other is a corded necklace randomly beaded with different wood beads; some round, some oval; some natural wood colored and some metallic and colorful. Either of these necklaces will match with anything I own and I wear them all the time.
My simple hibiscus pendant is not so much a unique piece—at least I didn’t think it was. Apparently here on the mainland it’s a treat for the gazing eye. The wood beaded necklace, however is colorful and unique and always makes for a great conversation starter.
Unique jewelry is all the rage today. From funky rings to mysterious necklaces and even hair jewelry, the fashionista is on the lookout for something different. In my recent jewelry news combing, I read of one Maine man who creates jewelry from muscles, which are first polished and then wrapped in a sterling silver bezel with a nickel backing. Check our auctions for something unique. With new auctions every five seconds, you’re bound to find what you’re looking for!

Turquoise has long been a popular stone in the United States. It was mined by the Aztecs in today’s New Mexico and a significant amount of the turquoise in today’s jewelry comes from Arizona, California and Nevada.
Turquoise is meant to attract money, success and love to the wearer. Native American’s consider it a sacred stone and carve turquoise animal figures to protect and guard the dead. You’ll see turquoise in essentially every Native American piece you come across.
Turquoise is the most beautiful when cut in a natural fashion, such as the way it is seen in this bracelet. Accented by sterling silver spacers and clasp, this bracelet features 26 chunky turquoise stones.
This bracelet is part of our Main Street Collection here on Bidz.com. It is a beautiful gift for yourself or any other woman. Bid today to win this piece! Good luck!

Of course the total carat weight of a piece of jewelry does not fine jewelry make, but it certainly adds to the glamour. And when a piece of jewelry is in fact made of quality gems, the carat weight essentially seals the deal when it comes to desirability and value of the piece.
Sapphires are most commonly known in their brilliant, bright blue variety. This bracelet, however, features midnight blue sapphires—66 of them oval cut and set in sterling silver. These particular sapphires seem to have more of the midnight than the blue—they are a gorgeous, deep blue and group together for an absolutely stunning outcome.
The bracelet is 7.5 inches in length and has an immense total carat weight of 30.70 carats. Like I said, the carat weight can definitely up the desirability and value of jewelry when done in such a chic way!

For me, elaborate details and a vintage feel go hand-in-hand. And this ring would look fabulous on my hand…
Rings are one piece of jewelry that can easily be very elaborate without being over the top and without making you look like a crazy person as some larger necklaces or earrings might do.
Many jewelers are making new pieces with the look and elegant feel of vintage pieces. This particular ring is absolutely gorgeous. Crafted in sterling silver, the details are very delicate and lovely. The ring has a total carat weight of 2.50 carats made of 102 round cut white cubic zirconia gems.

In the 60s and 70s, flower power was all the rage. There were flowers everywhere! Big and small (but mostly big) and brightly colored.
Though flowers aren’t necessarily dancing on the fabrics of today’s upholstery and apparel, they have always and will continue to make a statement in the jewelry biz.
This lovely floral cocktail ring is crafted in sterling silver. It is made of gorgeous quality cubic zirconia stones—though you wouldn’t know it at first glance. It’s a bright and funky ring for a bright and funky girl.
This ring is part of our Main Street Collection and will make a great gift. It also has a high resale potential for anyone looking to make a profit. Bid now before it’s gone!
